Questions & answers

Straight answers about buying, paying for and shipping a car with Bloom.

Buying a car

How does buying with Bloom work?

Choose a car from our stock or tell us what you’re looking for. We send photos, the auction sheet and a written CIF quote. When you’re happy, you accept the invoice and pay a 30% deposit to reserve it. The balance is paid before the car is loaded, and we keep you updated until you collect it in Dar es Salaam.

Can you find a car that isn’t listed?

Yes. Tell us the make, model, year range, mileage and budget you have in mind. We search Japanese auctions and dealer stock every day and send you the best matches with their auction sheets.

What does the CIF price include?

CIF means Cost, Insurance and Freight. It covers the car, export inspection, marine insurance and shipping to Dar es Salaam. TRA duties, port charges, clearing and registration are paid in Tanzania and are not part of the CIF price.

What is an auction sheet?

It is the inspection report written by the Japanese auction house. It grades the car’s overall condition and marks every scratch, dent or repair on a body diagram. We share it before you pay and explain anything that’s unclear.

Can I ask for a specific colour, year or mileage?

Of course. Add it to your enquiry or tell us on WhatsApp, and we’ll only send cars that match.

Payment

Do I get a formal invoice?

Yes. Every order comes with an invoice in your name showing the car, its reference number and the agreed price. You’ll also find it in your account.

How do I pay?

By bank transfer to Bloom’s company account only, in US dollars or Tanzanian shillings. Our bank details are on the Payments page and on your invoice.

Are there hidden costs?

No. Your invoice shows exactly what you pay Bloom. We also explain the local charges you’ll pay in Tanzania (TRA duties, port and clearing) so you can budget for the full cost upfront.

How do I know payments are safe?

Only pay into the company account shown on our website and invoice. Our team will never ask you to pay into a personal account. If anything looks different, call us before you pay.

Shipping & delivery

How long does delivery take?

Most cars reach Dar es Salaam about 40–55 days after they sail. Add a week or two for booking, export inspection and loading in Japan.

How are cars shipped?

On roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) car carriers from major Japanese ports. The car is driven onto the ship and secured in a covered deck.

Do you help with clearing and delivery?

Yes. We work with trusted clearing agents in Dar es Salaam and can arrange delivery to your town. We share every document you need for TRA.

What if the car is damaged in transit?

CIF shipments are insured. If anything happens on the way, tell us within 48 hours of collection with photos and we’ll handle the claim with you.

Can I track my order?

Yes. Sign in to your account to see each step, from confirmation to shipping and arrival, and to download your documents.
